March 9, 2006  Keith Miller, Baritone with Debra Ayers, Piano

Former University of Colorado fullback, Keith Miller began his operatic career when he joined the Academy of Vocal Arts’ roster of young and gifted singers after graduating. Known for his “impressive” and “commanding” presence, Mr. Miller’s recent engagements include The Gallworm in the critically acclaimed production of The Cricket Recovers with the Aldeburgh Festival in England; Basilio in Il Barbiere di Siviglia and Monterone/Sparafucile in Rigoletto with the Crested Butte Music Festival; the roles of Leporello and Masetto in Don Giovanni; Dulcamara in L’elisir d’amore, Don Alfonso in Così fan tutte; Sarastro in Die Zauberflöte and Figaro in Le nozze di Figaro. Upcoming performances for Mr. Miller include Fafner in Das Rheingold, the title role in Don Giovanni and Colline in La bohème. After majoring in Fine Arts at the University of Colorado where he was a starting fullback for three seasons, Mr. Miller went on to play professionally for 5 years and ended his career on the reserve rosters of the Denver Broncos and Oakland Raiders.
