Peter “Pete” William Abbott, 86, passed away in Littleton, Colorado, on Friday, May 16, 2025.

Pete was born on January 14, 1939, in Travis County TX, to John S. Abbott, Jr. and Lillian Colgan Winkle Abbott. Shortly thereafter, the family moved to Bethesda, MD, where Pete graduated from Woodrow Wilson High School.

Pete graduated from the University of Kansas (1962) with an MS in Aeronautical Engineering. He began his career at General Dynamics, Pomona, CA, (1962) and retired from Martin Marietta, Denver, CO, in 1996.

Pete was preceded in death by his mother and father and his half-sister, Jeanne Dorough, of Williamsburg, VA. He is survived by his wife, “Pepper,” of 63 years, his sons, Pete and Mike, his daughter-in-law, Laura, and grandsons, Henry and Jack.

A service of remembrance for Pete will be held on August 14, 2025, at 10:30 am at the Littleton United Methodist Church, 5897 S. Datura Street. A Celebration of Life will follow the service.
