More than a dozen downtown bus routes will see detours, delays or boarding location changes this weekend during Denver’s PrideFest, according to the Regional Transportation District.
During the Denver Pride 5K, a charity run with festivities scheduled from 8 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. Saturday, boarding locations for bus routes 10 and 12 will change, according to a news release from the transportation district.
Cheesman Park will be closed to traffic during the event, so RTD passengers can access those bus routes on either side of the park, according to the news release. That’s west of Corona Street or east of York Street, RTD officials said.
On Sunday, the Denver Pride Parade will kick off at 9:30 a.m., prompting detours and delays for at least 14 RTD bus routes.
The parade will start at the intersection of Franklin Street and 17th Avenue, march west on 17th and end at Lincoln Street, according to event organizers. Road closures will be active from roughly 7 a.m. to noon Sunday.
“Customers should expect delays, detours and temporary stop closures in the downtown and Capitol Hill areas,” RTD officials stated in the release.
On Sunday:
- Bus routes 0, 1, 6, 8, 9, 10, 12, 15, 15L, 16, 19, 44, 48 and 52 will be delayed or detoured
- Passengers can board the eastbound 83L at 13th Avenue, since Civic Center will be closed
- Passengers can board the 16th Street FreeRide shuttle at Cleveland Place and 16th Street
