An assistant manager has been arrested on suspicion of robbing the Family Dollar Store he works at in Colorado Springs, police say.
Martellius Bryant, 30, along with 21-year-old Alejandro Pablo allegedly held-up the discount store on the 1700 block of South Circle Drive on Wednesday night.
Colorado Springs police say the pair bound two employees with duct tape before making off with cash and other items.
Officers investigating the robbery quickly noted the suspects had left the store in a vehicle because of footprints in the fresh snow.
“One of the victims was very articulate and able to provide detailed suspect descriptions,” police said in a news release. “Further investigation revealed an off-duty assistant manager of the store, along with a known associate, were likely the suspects.”
Bryant was arrested after police say he “returned to the scene.”
A search of Bryant’s home revealed items taken in the robbery, including cash, according to police.
Police credited investigators “attention to the small details” in identifying and arresting the suspects. Bryant is being held at the El Paso County jail in lieu of $25,000 bail, records show. Pablo is also being held at the facility.
