Woman wields pepper spray to flee Colorado Springs Family Dollar store with stolen merchandise

The woman escaped in a gold van with the license plate YQR668, which also was reported stolen

A woman filled her cart and purse with merchandise at a Family Dollar before using pepper spray on a clerk to force her way out of the store, Colorado Springs police said.

The woman escaped in a gold van with the license plate YQR668, which was reported stolen Monday, police said.

The robbery happened about 1:40 p.m. Monday at 451 S. Circle Drive. The clerk who was sprayed was standing by the door of the business.

The woman is described as 5-foot, 7-inches with brown hair and a tattoo on her right shoulder-blade of a word or a name.
